Announcing the formation of the Jon P. Jackopin Scholarship Fund

Tragically this past September, our community lost one of its most beloved members, Jon Jackopin. Jon was very active with coaching Football, Lacrosse, Baseball and Basketball, mostly due to his 3 boys but also due to his love of sports. Jon as a coach believed passionately in South Jersey sports. Jon’s first love was for his family Jon Jon, Jamie, Jeffrey and his wife Annie. Following a very close second to his family was the children he coached in various sports throughout his lifetime.

To honor Jon and to keep his memory alive the “Jon P. Jackopin Memorial Scholarship” was formed. The scholarship is dedicated to the sports player or players that will be graduating from high school who are looking to further their education. The scholarship committee will make a decision as to who shall receive this prestigious award based on the mission statement of the scholarship.

The mission statement of the scholarship has been based on Jon’s coaching philosophy.

His coaching philosophy was to:

  • Work with every athlete like he was the most important member of the Team

His goal for the athlete was to:

  • Play Hard, Play Fair, Play with Passion
  • Put the Team over any Individual Player
  • Give 110% at every Opportunity

Please take a moment to remember Jon by contributing to his scholarship and helping an athlete further his education. Your contributions can be sent to: ( make checks payable to ):
